Teen Book Club – November
November 17, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Spellbound’s Teen Book Club reads books on a different theme each month, and we don’t all have to read the same book–just one that fits the theme. Come to the meeting to chat and compare notes on what everybody read, and maybe get some good suggestions for your TBR* pile.
No sign-up or purchase necessary. Anyone 13-18 is welcome–all genders, all types of reading interests. We’ll have free snacks, and parent drop-off is okay. Come alone or with some friends.
*TBR= To Be Read
For our November meeting, the theme is fairy tale adaptations. This has been a popular trend in young adult novels for the last few years. Some examples include Cinder, a retelling of Cinderella by Marissa Meyer; Dorothy Must Die, Danielle Page’s dark re-imagining of the Wizard of Oz saga; The Wrath and the Dawn, Renee Ahdieh’s take on Scheherezade; and Everland, a steampunk dystopian take on Peter Pan by Wendy Spinale.
